I’m Jim Christie, a teacher, scientist, musician, and community volunteer. For ten years, Lago Vista has been my home—and I would be honored to serve our neighbors on the LVPOA Board.

About Jim
A life of leadership, learning, and service
Jim Christie brings together experience in education, science, organizational leadership, and the performing arts. He currently teaches science, math, and Bible at Sterling Classical School. Previously, he taught mathematics at Lago Vista High School.
Before moving to Lago Vista, Jim spent much of his professional career leading software businesses in the United States and Australia. He served as Vice President of Marketing for a Fortune 500 firm and as Managing Director for Asia Pacific, based in Australia, for a major network management company. His work has spanned business development, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and finance. Jim and his wife, Julie, lived in Australia for ten years, giving him substantial experience working with people and organizations across different cultures.
Jim also served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army and is Ranger- and Airborne-qualified. That service reinforced the values of preparation, accountability, teamwork, and perseverance that he has carried throughout his professional and community life.
His academic background includes a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Kansas State University, a B.A. from Southwestern College, and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
Jim and Julie make their home in Lago Vista, where Julie continues her career with a software firm from her home office. Jim is the father of three and grandfather of eight. One of his children lives in Lago Vista, and two of his grandchildren attend Lago Vista ISD schools. These family ties deepen his commitment to keeping Lago Vista an engaging and enriching place to live.

Music Minister at Lakeside Christian Fellowship and an active participant in the Lago Vista performing arts community.

Former Board President and current board member of Hill Country Singers; former Board President of Lake Travis Music Theatre.
Hands-on LVPOA support
Works with LVPOA facilities staff to help operate lighting and sound for community productions and events.
